Applied Design for Tote Bag

 What is Tote Bag?

This must be your first question ..right?

So, this is a kind of handbag with no such detailing, pockets, no zipper(unfastened), no separate compartments and basically looks like a shopping bag but it is reusable. You can see the picture, this is what exactly tote bags look  like.

I bought three tote bags had no graphics and design on it basically to create  my own design on it. Here I am sharing the complete procedure step by step to make it more clear and easy for you to understand each step. Hope you will be love it.
First of all you'll need some material for this project. I am listing  everything down below so that it would help you to arrange each and everything.

Material Required:
  • A plain Tote bag
  • Fabric/Acrylic colors
  • Sponge or hard bristle paintbrush (atleast two)
  • Medium  for colors (don't use water with fabric colors)
  • Hard card board
  • Stencil knife and a thick paper sheet

Ofcourse some inspiration, I scroll pinterest for ideas and then manipulate it according to my taste.

Procedure:
1. Take your plain tote bag.(You can paint before stitching  or can paint on stitched one)

2. Make sure to iron the fabric before paint otherwise it can ruin whole vibe of the design.

3. Place that hard cardboard inside the bag to give a plain surface and it can also avoid the impression  of paint on ither side of the bag.

4. Take the stencil or you can make your  own customized. All you need is a cutter or stencil knife and a thick paper sheet. For design you'll surely need some inspiration,  so I'll suggest you to go through some pinterest ideas and take some inspiration and then create your own masterpiece.

5. Place the stencil on the bag, and paste or pinup the corner of the stencil with the bag to make sure it would not move from its place. And after that with the help of sponge or the hard bristle brushes start fill up the paint in the empty spaces of the stencil. (Do not remove the stencil immediately allow it to dry.)

6. Once you remove the stencil you will get a perfect design on your bag after that wait for 24 hours and then iron the bag on the wrong side. It will help the paint to stay a on the fabric for longer period of time.

7. And Voila! Your bag is ready.🥰

I hope this crafty idea helped you enough to inspire for creating your own customized Tote bag. I would love to hear from your side, so tag me on Instagram ( @art_2escape) if you are planning  to make your own bag.
